Above the map of the old city of Most memories come back to life

Would you like to know where the original train station, the tram stop “At the Theatre” was situated or what size the “First Square” in old Most was?

 On this map, young and adult visitors can find any house of old Most. By touching it they display all available photos and descriptions. Miroslava Vernerová from the Tourist Information Centre says. “Mainly during summer the people who remember the old city are interested in the old Royal town that had to make way to coal mining.”  Every citizen has the possibility to check the house in which they once lived. Or if the school which they once attended is part of the map.

You can find out that there is a house or building missing. It means that there is no photograph available in the museum nor in the archive. Visitors who have such a photograph in their family album or collection can give it to the city. It would cause that the database of interactive map photographs will expand. Within the last three years it has expanded by 20 pictures from the period.

Map groundwork, on which the houses are drawn, can be switched between maps dated from the 1^st half of the 18^th century, 1938, 1950 and 1975. The interactive map was created during 2012 and 2013 by the Municipal Authority of Most, Regional Museum and State District Record Office in Most.

Where you can find it?

“This unique map is situated solely in the Tourist Information Centre,” says Miroslava Vernerová. The Tourist Information Centre is situated next to Ceremony Hall and it is open all year round. On weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm.
